A Little About Me

I was born and raised in Northern Utah. I’m a portrait and figurative artist with experience in drawing and oil painting. I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. I was blessed with a supportive family who encouraged me in my artistic endeavors. It wasn’t until I attended Brigham Young University Idaho, however, that I first started to learn to paint with oils. I’m very thankful for the knowledge and time many teachers have been willing to give as I’ve sought to develop my artistic skills.

I graduated Brigham Young University-Idaho in December, 2013 with a Bachelor of Art degree in integrated studio art. Since then, I’ve continued to pursue drawing and oil painting. I’ve also been blessed with a wonderful family of my own. My husband and children are very supportive.

I’m greatly inspired by the gospel of Jesus Christ, my family and friends, and the seemingly small moments of daily gospel living, both within my own family and those I’ve has observed among others. Elder Neal A. Maxwell stated that “Moments are the molecules that make up eternity!” It brings me joy to see evidences of gospel truths. I hope to portray the wonder of such moments and gospel doctrines in my artwork. I also continue to be inspired by other artists such as Albin Veselka, Mike Malm, Brian Astle, Minerva Teichert, Carolyn Anderson, and John Singer Sargent.
