Mo'ui 'ia Kalaisi (Alive in Christ)

A special feeling stirs my heart as I watch children partake of the Sacrament, their hands carefully grasping symbols with holy meaning. I see a glimpse of God’s love for His little ones combined with the call for parents to encourage deep spiritual roots while they are young. Perhaps I project my understanding of this sacred ordinance and combine it with the desire for my children to choose the covenant path. The irony is that partaking is not yet required of them, for “‘oku mo’ui ‘a fānau īkí ‘ia Kalaisi,” which is “little children are alive in Christ” in Tongan. (Moroni 8:12)

Both of these kiddos are part Tongan. I’m very grateful to their parents for the privilege of painting them. They’re such a wonderful family! 🩵💛
